Meet Kiki (she/her)

I’m a registered Art Therapist, advocate, and comic artist with deep creative roots. As a child, you could often find me drawing, writing, acting, or dancing. I had a big imagination—and even bigger feelings—but I loved telling stories because they helped me give big feelings some shape. Over time, my childhood passion evolved into creating and advocating for the therapeutic power of comics as tools for wellbeing. Art and storytelling have always allowed me space to express myself in ways that words alone can’t. Without them, feelings would feel much heavier and harder to untangle, and I know many others may feel the same.

As an Art Therapist, I help others explore their inner and outer worlds playfully, and at their own pace. My approach blends elements of narrative therapy, creative writing, community therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, eco-therapy, attachment theory, child development, social justice principles, education theory, and the neurobiology of trauma. I am motivated by evidence-based research and aim to bridge the gap between comics and mental health. I've worked in primary and secondary education, family violence, and local council, and provide a warm, inclusive, and culturally respectful space. As a lived experience advocate, I help people recognise their innate skills and existing knowledge with compassion and curiosity.

I believe in the transformative power of art and storytelling and am continually inspired by the ways people integrate them into their own lives.
